Inspection
Inspections will vary depending on the type of equipment. Remember to look for fecal stains, exoskeletons, eggs and live bed bugs at or near cracks and crevices. (Learn more about inspection).
Preferred Control Method
Heat
Clothes dryer, hair dryer or space heating. In a clothes dryer, place in mesh bag and hang on the inside of the dryer door. Close the door and let the dryer run without other items inside. Direct hair dryer treatments to areas where bugs are found. (Learn more about heat).
Other Control Options
Isolation
Store inside an airtight plastic bag or bin for six months. (Learn more about isolation).
Hand Wash
Many items can be washed with hot, soapy water. Check tag to verify that soapy water will not damage item. (Learn more about hand wash).
Vacuum
Pay attention to folds, gaps and other hiding spots. (Learn more about vacuuming).
Not Recommended - Steam, Freeze, Desiccant dust
