Preferred Control Method
Isolation
Store inside an airtight plastic bag or bin for six months. (Learn more about isolation).
Hand Wash
Hard plastic toys can be cleaned with warm soapy water. (Learn more about hand wash).
Heat
Clothes dryer, hair dryer, or space heating. Ropes, balls and stuffed toys can be easily heat-treated in a hot dryer with a dry towel for a buffer. (Learn more about heat).
Other Control Options
Throw away
If items are heavily infested or have lots of potential hiding places, disposal is recommended.
Not Recommended - Steam, Freeze, Desiccant dust
